Vehicle sensors launched in EMEA at Intertraffic

We were delighted to launch our new range of above-ground vehicle sensors at Intertraffic. The ViiK vehicle sensor series comprises two models: the OVS-01GT, designed for gate, barrier or industrial door activation; and the OVS-01CC as a moving vehicle counter.

Both sensors use Frequency-Modulated-Continuous-Wave (FMCW) technology and do not require any civil works to install. This is a genuine alternative to ground loops in situations where the road surface is damaged or unsealed, paved with cobblestones or above drains and pipes.

The OVS-01GT detects vehicles arriving and stopping within 5.5 metres while ignoring pedestrian traffic. The vehicle sensor connects to an automatic gate, barrier or industrial door operator, and includes menu programming, five sensitivity settings and five human cancelling selections, all with one-button calibration. It suits simple gate activation applications or can be an integral part of a more sophisticated parking solution.

The OVS-01CC can detect and count small or large moving vehicles up to 60km/h in single lane applications. The vehicle counter can similarly be mounted quickly and easily on a pole or wall at 90 degrees. Its detection area (up to eight metres) can be customised with eight range settings, five sensitivity settings and one-touch calibration. The OVS-01CC is perfectly suited for counting cars in open retail parks or monitoring traffic in high streets.

OPTEX EUROPE is now ISO-9001: 2015 certified

ISO 9001 is an international standard that sets out the requirements for a quality management system. It helps businesses and organisations to be more efficient and improve customer satisfaction. The standard is reviewed every few years to adapt to a constantly-changing business world. The last standard was published in September 2015 and all certified organisations need to move to this standard before September 2018 to remain ISO 9001 certified.
OPTEX EUROPE (LIMITED), the EMEA headquarters for security products, people counting and vehicle sensors has successfully passed the audit and is now ISO 9001:2015 certified.
The key changes raised by the new standard is the ability for the certified company to assess political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental risks and take actions if changes are needed for the company and its customers’ benefits.

We will also be proactive in gathering feedback from our customers on their needs and requirement through direct contacts and surveys.
The certificate will be issued soon and if any of our customers should need to see it please contact us here

Pre-built beam towers – an easier way to protect perimeters

For sites where infrared beams need to be stacked to create a higher virtual perimeter wall, towers are an ideal solution. Our Towers enclose the power supply, heater, brackets and other components, and they also hide the number and positioning of the beams, making it much more difficult for an intruder to defeat them.

We provide two metre, 180° and 360°, free-standing and wall-mounted pre-built towers. 3 metre pre-built tower can also be ordered on demand.

Each pre-built tower assembly is supplied complete with all of the brackets, beams, heaters and tamper switches installed and connected. Simply hook up the power along with the alarm cables, align the beams and the installation is complete. The type of IR beams recommended for the pre-built towers are the SL-QDP-BT, available in 60m, 100m or 200m detection range.
