The battery-powered WX (WXI and WXS) and BXS series both feature individual left and right detection areas. When connected correctly they can trigger and alert precisely where the activation occurred.

Optex bxs wxs wxi independent left right detection

The WX (WXI and WXS) and BXS have two independent alarm outputs that can be either triggered as left and right individual alarms or as a single unit alarm. The latter will transmit an alarm but not indicate in which detection area it occurred. The need to use the left and right output would depend on the security setup, as these settings would not be required for every. However, if the sensor is used with two cameras or with a camera with pre-sets, it would be beneficial to use the left and right feature to narrow down the intrusion and visually verify it.

A single alarm set up will require a two channel transmitter.

To trigger the left and right zones individually you would require one of the following options:

  • A three channel transmitter
  • A dual channel transmitter and single channel transmitter.

The configuration on the image shows a dual channel transmitter to transmit the left alarm output and tamper and a second dual-channel transmitter to transmit the right alarm with the tamper looped out.

The battery box on both WXI-R, WXS-R and BXS-R models is large enough to house both transmitters.

When setting up the transmitter, configuration of the DIP switch needs to be completed. For individual alarm outputs DIP switch number 3 should be set to OFF. With dual alarm output set the DIP switch to ON. This setting is applicable to WXI-R/WXS-R and BXS-R series
