The security trade magazine Detektor International has nominated OPTEX WX Shield series for the 2019 Detektor International Awards. The overall winners will be announced at the security industry presentation ceremony in Stockholm on the 19th November 2019, during the Sectech exhibition.

The Detektor International Award was introduced in 2000 to reward manufacturers of products and services that stand up to the criteria of outstanding innovation and contribution to the advancement of the security industry. The prestige associated with Detektor International Awards is derived from the fact that there is no formal entry process. Instead, each year, the Detektor International Awards panel of jurors analyse the security market to discover, nominate and vote on which products demonstrate the most innovation, versatility and user-friendliness.

WX Shield series, OPTEX’s recently released range of outdoor PIRs that offer panoramic 180° detection coverage, are nominated under the Alarm & Detection category. The WX Shield series provides flexible range detection and settings, as well as a selectable low (0.8 - 1.2m) or high mount (2m) option. The sensors feature 12m of detection and two completely independent 90 degrees detection areas with the flexibility to configure individually the settings, sensitivity level and triggering independent alarm outputs for the left and right areas. WXS series is also equipped with self-learning IR, intelligent anti-masking and pet tolerance. It can be used in conjunction with an alarm panel or CCTV cameras. The series comprises four models: two PIR models (WXS-AM and WXS-RAM) and two dual-tech models (WXS-DAM and WXS-RDAM).

It’s not the first time that the Shield series catches the interest of the jurors, last year BX Shield series was finalist in this same category due to its multifunctional detection system and its sleek design. The BX shield series features a series of curtain-based outdoor motion sensors for intrusion detection with up to 12 metres detection range on each side of the device.
