The BX Shield sensors are ideal for protecting windows and the immediate boundaries of a building or site. Designed for both residential and commercial applications, the outdoor sensors can be as easily connected to an alarm panel as pre-alarm and/or to a CCTV system to provide visual verification when an intruder is detected.
The new curtain PIRs combine a sleek modern design with great features: four pyro-elements, digital signal analysis (Super Multidimensional Analysis) to exclude environmental changes, flexible detection areas from 2.5m to 12m and independent sensitivity settings for each side (left and right).

INTRODUCING THE IBERIA TEAM AT SICUR, MADRID
Spain and the Iberian Peninsula have been a growing market for us for the last few years, as there is a clear demand for highly reliable intrusion detection sensors and perimeter protection systems. To meet this exciting challenge, a dedicated team of two native speakers, Milton Acosta, Sales Manager, and Tony Singh, Technical Sales Manager, have been put in place to support our partners, much to the delight of their manager, Mark Cosgrave, Western Europe Divisional Manager.
Milton joined OPTEX in September 2017 and has been working in the security sector since 1996. He has more than 20 years’ experience in video management, IP CCTV, access control, automation, intrusion sensors, video analytics, fire detection and integration.
Tony has been working for OPTEX as part of the EMEA sales and technical support team for 17 years, and is now based in Madrid to bring greater training support to the region. He has worked in most security sectors and provides training on all of OPTEX’s sensor technologies. He also supports ‘proof of concept’ for projects that include long range PIRs, laser and fibre optics sensors.
The new team will be at Sicur which takes place from 20th to 23th February in Madrid, where we will have our own stand for the first time.

PRECISE DETECTION AREA FOR ASSET PROTECTION WITH REDSCAN LASER
Whatever the asset is, whether it is indoor or outdoor, we can protect it by creating a 2D laser virtual shield around it, that will detect any attempt to touch it.
The detection area can be set so precisely that hands touching left, right, below or above the area of detection will be ignored to avoid false alarms. Shadows and lighting conditions will not be affected by the detection area as the laser sensor doesn’t depend on the lighting level to detect.
We demonstrated a live ‘necklace’ protection at Intersec. The necklace display was protected by our Redscan RLS-2020 and every time someone attempted to touch the necklace the redscan detected it and generated an alarm turning the red LED lights on.
