Our contribution to the ‘Creating a security culture’ initiative

For nearly 12 months the Security Institute and ITN News have joined forces to put together a programme about ‘Creating a Security Culture’. The news and current-affair styled programme exploring ‘the important work of security professionals’ was officially launched at the Security Institute General Assembly on 3rd October.

OPTEX took part in the programme showing the various forms that intrusion can take, from climbing up or cutting through a fence, to following an authorised employee without his or her knowledge into a controlled area. Everything that you see in the film below was filmed live!

Left, right? Nothing missed with our BX Shield series

The new Shield design concept combines great usability and versatile design. To complement the VX Shield series launched just a couple of months ago, we are now bringing the BX Shield to the market. The BX Shield is a series of curtain motion sensors perfect for protecting windows and the immediate boundaries of a building or site. The sensor includes four PIRs, two on each side, and the detection range and sensitivity can be set completely independently for each side of the sensor; detection can be easily set to 2.5, 3.5, 6, 8.5 or 12m.

With a sleek modern look, the BX Shield sensor comes in two standard colours: black body and white front face plate, or white body and white face plate. Optional black and silver plates are available.

Here are the key models:

BXS-ST and BXS-ST(W): standard hardwired model in black and white or all white (W model)

BXS-AM and BXS-AM (W): hardwired models with anti-masking in black and white or all white (W model)

BXS-R and BXS-R (W): battery-powered model in black and white or all white (W model)

BXS-RAM and BXS-RAM (W): battery-powered model with antimasking in black and white or all white (W model)
