We are excited to introduce our new indoor detection sensor series – FlipX Standard – now available through our official distributors throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The new series builds upon our 40 years’ experience developing outstanding intrusion detectors and customer feedback bringing to the market innovative features and improved versatility.

By simply rotating the lens through 180°, the sensor can be used to protect narrow or long areas such as a hallway up to 18m, or a wide, open area like a living room or retail store up to 12m at 85°. This ‘flipped’ lens effectively gives installers ‘two sensors in one’. It helps installers manage their inventory and cashflow, while giving them the versatility and confidence of arriving on site with the solution they need to match their customer’s needs.

Highly accurate detection

FlipX Standard uses an innovative pyroelectric sensor which adapts to the human shape and can differentiate humans with greater clarity, avoiding false alarms triggered by pets. In addition, FlipX is equipped with OPTEX’s unique SMDA logic (Super Multi-Dimensional Analysis), which helps the sensor avoid nuisance alarms caused by shades, changes of temperature or brightness, which can be common in indoor settings.

Flexible and quick installation

Following feedback from our customers, the new FlipX sensors have a flexible mounting height between 2m and 3m, and with its sleek compact design can seamlessly blend in the aesthetics of residential and commercial buildings with higher ceilings. Also, thanks to an optional bracket the sensor can be mounted on the wall or the ceiling. A further advantage for installers is the quick and easy installation thanks to a 180° cover lock and an easy viewable LED light.

FlipX Standard includes two models: a PIR model – FLX-S-ST – and a dual-technology (PIR and microwave) model – FLX-S-DT. The latter is equipped with OPTEX’s robust microwave module (Tough Mod2™), ensuring the durability of the sensor in challenging environments and humid climates, as well as higher levels of capture performance by tailoring the microwave to the IR detection area.
