OPTEX EMEA Entrance

I have been in the automatic door business since the early 1990s and for 26 years I have been with OPTEX's high quality sensors. As president, I have been responsible for the ins and outs of the organization for all these years, as well as always being responsible for some of the key accounts.

My free time I like to spend with my friends and family. The annual ski trip with them is one of the highlights of my year. I have a great time when kicking a ball around on the field. I have been a member of my soccer club for over 50 years and still play weekly. Furthermore I enjoy hiking, especially in the mountains, and enjoy spending time with horses.

Over the past 20 years, I have been involved in various business domains within OPTEX — including factory automation, security, and automatic doors — helping customers solve their challenges through sensor technology.

In 2026, a new chapter began as I took on the role of COO at OPTEX EUROPE B.V.. I feel truly fortunate to work with my team to offer safe, comfortable, and amazing sensor solutions to our partners across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Outside of work, my wife and I are enjoying our new life in the Netherlands with our three children. My greatest joy now is watching my children grow while exploring the beautiful natural landscapes across Europe — if offers sceneries we could never experience in Japan.

For several years, I have been immersed in a Japanese work environment specializing in Sales & Marketing for technical products, spanning from Photovoltaics to Lithium-Ion Batteries, Automotive Exhaust Gas materials, non-destructive testing equipment, and more.

As of March 2024, I commence my role as the Chief Sales Officer at OPTEX Technologies, serving the EMEA Entrance Division. Leveraging my accumulated experience and knowledge across various industries, I am looking forward to collaborate with my colleagues to expand our business and deliver distinctive solutions to customers with our high-quality sensors for automatic doors.

During my free time, I find pleasure in engaging in Badminton, practicing Archery, and embarking on adventures with my family to explore the world.

Early 2018 I came to Optex for a short 5-day orientation internship. Early 2020 I came back to write my Bachelor thesis on the market of industrial doors for the introduction of the OAM-EXPLORER industrial door sensor. This is a new market for Optex Technologies. After graduating, I decided in good consolidation with Ronald to stay and put my findings to practice.

In my spare time, I prefer to spend time with my family or friends. I won’t say no to a nice dinner at a restaurant or a fun game of snooker accompanied by a beer at the bar. Besides good food and a cold beer, I enjoy playing and watching a good game of football. Every Saturday I enter the pitch thinking I can pass like Pirlo, dribble like Messi, and coach like Guardiola. Leaving the field disappointed every time, but I enjoy it!

I have been working in technical support nationally and internationally in the door and gate industry since 2008. In addition to customer support in the field of safety sensors and control systems, my main tasks have also included providing customer training. The personal customer contact combined with traveling and office work as well as the application of my technical skills has been the ideal mix for me for years.

From January 2025, I started my position as a sales engineer for the DACH region at OPTEX Technologies. I am having a great time exploring my new work environment, tasks and responsibillities for the Entrance Division and getting to know the team.

When off work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our three wonderful children. We travel a lot together and my youngest son shares my hobby of fishing. To stay fit, I actively play soccer in a club and go for walks with my family. My great passion is motorcycling.

I have been working in a technical environment for a long time. I’m proud to be part of the OPTEX EMEA Entrance team as Sales Engineer Italy for the Smart Mobility Solutions.

I will focus on supporting the vehicle detection market, improving and expanding our activities and giving customers my very best technical and sales support.

Aside from my job, I love spending my free time with my family, my wife and playing with my daughter. I'm passionate about historic cars and have one myself. Every Saturday afternoon, I have guitar lessons to chase the dream of becoming a professional guitar player.

In 2024, I had the chance to visit OPTEX EMEA Entrance Division as a technology partner, and in 2025 I am thrilled to join them, enforcing the sales team with great enthusiasm and commitment as the representative for Iberia and France.

My professional career has always been closely linked to the commercial world, with experience in telecommunications, biometrics, and access control solutions. Leading projects worldwide and contributing to business development across Europe. I like to define myself as a problem-solver, capable of addressing challenges of all kinds.

I am passionate about embracing new experiences and living adventures that allow me to meet incredible people, discover breathtaking landscapes, explore different countries, and enjoy diverse cuisines and traditions. As for hobbies, I particularly enjoy water and mountain sports, and there's nothing better than chilling with a good book, a fine glass of wine, and Julio Iglesias playing in the background.

I have been working as a specialist in the field of door automation in various responsibilities since 1993 and started 2012 as Sales, Technical Support and Training representative for OPTEX in Germany and Austria, before I became the responsibility for DACH and Eastern Europe. After 10 years in a new responsibility as Key Account Manager for this well-known home territory and Product Manager for the whole EMEA region.

Furthermore, am I also representing OPTEX at the FTA (German Association for Door Automation) in the board and active member at the manufacturer, technical and training work groups.

I enjoy my business task as it consists of a mix of traveling, personal contact with customers and office work. At the same time I also care for a nice ratio between my work, family and leisure to stay in the right balance.

As soon as my time permits, I enjoy several outdoor activities and adventures in the mountains surrounding my Bavarian home such as skiing, mountain climbing, cycling and motorcycling with my „old” Kawasaki ZX-7R preferably together with my family and friends. One of the best experiences for me are barbecues with a bonfire in nature.

At OPTEX Technologies, my journey began part-time during my student years, while pursuing degrees in mechatronics and project engineering. I actively supported the technical crew during that time. Since January 2024, I've dedicated myself full-time to OPTEX as a Tech Support and Jr. R&D Engineer.

Beyond work, my passions in my free time don’t stop with technology. Exploring 3D printing and modelling paired with self-crafted electronics and software, allows me to be creative at home. Outside the tech realm, I find joy in a game of field hockey, having a night out with friends or embarking on (off-piste) skiing adventures, with friends or family.

In September 2025, I started my internship at OPTEX, where I focus on improving the RMA process. This internship allows me to deepen my knowledge of programming and electrical systems, which aligns perfectly with my Mechatronics studies at The Hague University of Applied Sciences.

In my free time, I enjoy combining creativity and technology, for example by doing 3D design in CAD or developing my own desktop app. I also like to stay active by playing volleyball three times a week and occasionally going to the gym.

With over 15 years of experience in managing and implementing innovative projects, I bring a strong background in metal production and management (Bachelor Professional, CCI) to my role in Research and Development. Driven by a passion for technology and a love of new challenges, I’m always focused on finding and delivering the best solutions.

Efficiency and quality are at the heart of my work — turning technological ideas into practical results that move our projects forward. Working in R&D allows me to combine analytical precision with creativity to achieve lasting innovation. At OPTEX I use my knowledge for Individual Tech projects, RMA Handling and Office Support.  

Outside of work, I recharge in the mountains as an avid mountaineer and mountain biker. Nature keeps me balanced and inspired, and I enjoy sharing adventures with my family and my son.

In April 1998 I started working for Optex Technologies, when it was still known as Secumatic. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, my job extended more and more towards accounting activities, which have my preference.

I have been married for 28 years, have two grown-up sons and like spending my free time either baking, dining with friends or family, reading, running and wondering what the future will bring!

Within OPTEX I take care off all orders from start to finish and everything that has a connection to Logistics. Besides OPTEX I’m a really sport minded. In 2010 the opportunity was given to me to run the Marathon of New York sponsored by OPTEX. It was a fantastic experience. Besides running I play soccer and tennis once a week.

As a student at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, I am gaining experience within OPTEX. In the future, I will be a graduate logistics manager and thanks to OPTEX, I will already be a few steps ahead of the other students.

Besides working and studying, I like to be with my friends. We enjoy to watch football with a beer. I'm also on the football field myself with the same friends. Our level is not like on TV but we have fun and that's what we are all about!

In the past I worked in communications and product management at a trading company and a health care organization. Both in my work and private life I love to organize and facilitate, but also to create and improve things with an eye for details and quality. In 2019 my challenge at Optex Technologies started. I really enjoy being a part of the team and like the diversity en challenges of the job!

Family time with my wonderful husband and kids is very valuable to me. On our days off we often head outdoors for a hike or go out for cultural activities. We love to meet up with friends, preferably accompanied by Italian or Asian food. Besides cooking, reading and arts and crafts, I love to travel, enjoy dining out, visiting museums and going to the cinema. To stay healthy I like the challenge of a good game of squash, running and I have been riding horses since I was 6 years old.
