TXI shortlisted for the Detektor International Award 2026
For decades, outdoor detection has meant a trade-off between catching intruders and avoiding false alarms. This year, that trade-off has caught the attention of the Detektor International Award jury. OPTEX TXI has been shortlisted in the "Alarm & Detection" category.
The Detektor International Award was established by Detektor International magazine in 2000 and is one of the most prestigious product awards in the global security industry. Winners are chosen by a multinational jury made up of the magazine's editorial staff, who look for innovative design and solutions that offer clear benefits to customers.
The winners will be announced on 20th October at the official ceremony, held on the first day of Skydd 2026 in Stockholm, Sweden.
What makes TXI different?
Traditionally, outdoor sensors have reduced false alarms caused by pets, wildlife and moving vegetation by lowering their sensitivity, which can also make them less likely to detect a real intruder. TXI takes a different approach with Triple AND Detection Logic, a world-first technology (patent-pending) in the high-mount outdoor curtain detector category.
Instead of adjusting sensitivity thresholds, TXI requires three independent detection conditions to be met at the same time before it raises an alarm. A human intruder meets them naturally, while pets, small animals and environmental disturbances do not. Fewer nuisance alarms also mean fewer costly call-backs for installers and more confidence for end users.
Being named a finalist reflects the demand for outdoor detection that installers and end users can trust, where every alarm is a genuine security event. It also continues OPTEX's history at the Detektor International Award, where the REDSCAN series has been recognised Best Product Innovation of the Year on several previous occasions.
OPTEX looks forward to the ceremony in Stockholm and continues to support security professionals with reliable detection solutions built for demanding environments.
