OPTEX Security Team

Over the past 20 years, I have been involved in various business domains within OPTEX — including factory automation, security, and automatic doors — helping customers solve their challenges through sensor technology.

In 2026, a new chapter began as I took on the role of COO at OPTEX EUROPE B.V.. I feel truly fortunate to work with my team to offer safe, comfortable, and amazing sensor solutions to our partners across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Outside of work, my wife and I are enjoying our new life in the Netherlands with our three children. My greatest joy now is watching my children grow while exploring the beautiful natural landscapes across Europe — if offers sceneries we could never experience in Japan.

I have been in the automatic door business since the early 1990s and for 26 years I have been with OPTEX's high quality sensors. As president, I have been responsible for the ins and outs of the organization for all these years, as well as always being responsible for some of the key accounts.

My free time I like to spend with my friends and family. The annual ski trip with them is one of the highlights of my year. I have a great time when kicking a ball around on the field. I have been a member of my soccer club for over 50 years and still play weekly. Furthermore I enjoy hiking, especially in the mountains, and enjoy spending time with horses.

Eelko is our Security sales representative for the Benelux and the Nordics.

Lara is our Marketing Manager overseeing all marketing for the Security EMEA division. 

Matthew is our Website and Social Media Lead, looking after the day to day digital marketing.
