What is your favourite OPTEX product and why?

I have a couple to be honest. One of our latest products, the Olarm Max, a seamless smart communicator that upgrades your PSTN panel to the latest app driven solutions. It comes with all the applications required for a cost-effective upgrade without having to change your intruder alarm panel. The flexibility is superb, not only for the end users, but also the integrators.

The REDSCAN LiDAR series is also a favourite of mine. REDSCAN LiDAR sensors are the most flexible laser detectors on the market, I believe. With six LiDAR options across the OPTEX portfolio, you have a wide range of choices when mapping your specific detection zones along with Onvif S for your IP integrations as well as powering the units via PoE. The applications are endless and is most definitely the product for all your security needs.

What do you enjoy most about your role, and how do you define success in it?

Working with a great team. Every individual in the OPTEX family strives to be the best and to ensure that all our customers are supported for their individual security requirements.Success for me is making sure that we listen and fully understand the customers security needs and get it right consistently for them. It’s not about just selling a solution for me, it’s also about the additional support to back everything up, such as site surveys, commissioning, training etc. I want all of my customers to feel valued and satisfied throughout the whole process. As a salesperson you want your customers to come back again and again, and if you get it right from the offset you and the business will continue to be successful year after year.

Do you have any hobbies or a surprising fun fact about yourself?

I am a massive petrol head. I love everything from BTCC to British Super Bikes and F1. I love the whole buzz that you get from attending race days, it’s electrifying and there is nothing quite like it. I’m also a qualified scuba diver and which has led me to travel to some amazing places around the world, one particular standout was the Maldives which did not disappoint.
