Introducing EchoPoint™ Distributed Acoustic System: the most advanced intrusion detection solution for large sites. With advanced fibre optic sensing and classification algorithms, EchoPoint™ sensors can alert of a genuine intrusion and provide point locating detection for any sized site. They can also classify and identify the difference in intrusion attempt and have versatile mounting options including underground, fence mounted or a combination of both to suit the individual needs of every site. Stay one step ahead of intruders and keep your site secure with EchoPoint™ DAS - the ultimate solution for reliable intrusion detection.

Precise Point Location up to 100km

The EchoPoint™ series utilises intelligent detection algorithms to accurately pinpoint the location of an intrusion of +/- 6m in a range of up to 100km. The point location is helped by virtual zoning which is set up to divide the system in multiple software defined detection areas which can range from 10m -100km. This highly accurate and reliable detection makes the sensors ideal for securing large perimeters and high risk security sites where being able to locate and identify the precise point of intrusion is critical.

Advanced algorithms and classification

The EchoPoint™ systems use an advanced pattern-recognition classification algorithm to help analyse the types of intrusions. In a fence application, it can classify and recognize intrusion attempts of cutting through wired fences, and climbing over and under which can be useful to determine any weak points or predict future intruder behavior. In a buried application, the EchoPoint can identify whether the vibrations are caused by footsteps, manual digging, machine digging or vehicles. Similarly, this information can be used to improve the security setup and further fortify a site.

Ease of use & Reliability

Echo Point sensors are designed with both ease of use and high reliability in mind. We've made sure that the EchoPoint is simple to install, tune and manage with a user-friendly interface that is straightforward to use, making the whole system a breeze to operate. It's highly automated and troubleshooting can easily be done on or off site, giving you more options. What sets us apart is our system's cut-tolerance and anti-redundancy features to prevent system failure and withstand tampering attempts, which are not always found in other fibre optic sensors. When the system is in a loop configuration, it notifies of any attempts to cut wires, which is especially useful when in a fence application as it ensures that malicious activity and tampering is detected and prevented. The anti-system redundancy measures ensure that in the event of a processor failure, the second processor would automatically take over to make sure the system remains operational. Trust Echo Point for a reliable and secure solution for your sensing needs.

OPTEX EchoPoint fibre optic DAS devices detect, classify and locate intrusion activity

EchoPoint uses Distributed Acoustic Sensing technology to turn fibre optic cable into a long-range perimeter detection sensor. The system monitors vibrations along the cable and uses classification algorithms to identify intrusion activity, such as fence climbing, fence cutting, footsteps, manual digging, machine digging and vehicle movement. This helps security teams understand both what has happened and where it is happening.

Point location fibre optic detection for large perimeters

EchoPoint is designed for large sites where location accuracy matters. The system pinpoints intrusion activity to within ±6m and protects perimeters up to 100km. This makes it suited to airports, railways, distribution centres, utilities, refineries, military sites, data centres and other high-risk locations where fast response depends on knowing the exact point of breach.

Fence mounted, buried or hybrid detection layouts

EchoPoint supports flexible deployment across different site types. The fibre optic sensing cable can be installed on a fence, buried underground, mounted on a wall top or used in a hybrid layout. This helps protect sites with mixed perimeter conditions, such as open ground, fence lines, gates, access routes and critical assets inside the perimeter.

Software-defined zones and security system integration

EchoPoint divides the protected route into software-defined detection zones. These zones help security teams manage large perimeters in sections, while still receiving precise point location data. Alarms can be integrated with VMS platforms, CCTV, GIS mapping, command centres and relay output modules. This means one alarm event can guide cameras, maps, lighting, warning systems and security staff to the right location fast.

Choose EchoPoint for large sites where intrusion detection needs to identify the exact location of an attack across long perimeter distances.

EchoPoint uses fibre optic Distributed Acoustic Sensing to detect activity along fence lines, buried routes or hybrid layouts. It analyses acoustic vibration patterns along the fibre cable, helping identify intrusion attempts and locate activity to within ±6m.

The system is suited to high-security sites with long perimeters, including datacentres, airports, power stations, utilities, rail infrastructure, military sites and critical infrastructure.

Choose EchoPoint when the site needs scalable perimeter protection, point location accuracy, classification analytics and flexible deployment across fence-mounted, buried or combined layouts.

Fence-mounted deployment

A fence-mounted EchoPoint deployment uses the fibre optic cable along the fence line to detect activity such as climbing, cutting, lifting or tampering.

This is suited to sites where the fence is the main perimeter barrier and visible attack detection is required. It helps identify activity directly on the fence and locate the event along the perimeter.

Buried deployment

A buried EchoPoint deployment places the fibre optic cable below ground along the protected route.

This creates a discreet detection layer with no visible sensor on the fence line. It is suited to sites where equipment needs to stay hidden, where fence lines are difficult to use, or where detection is needed before an intruder reaches the physical barrier.

Buried deployment is useful for open boundaries, sensitive sites, high-security compounds and areas where a tamper-resistant detection method is required.

Hybrid deployment

A hybrid EchoPoint deployment combines fence-mounted and buried fibre optic detection.

This gives the site two layers of perimeter protection. The buried layer helps detect approach activity, while the fence-mounted layer helps detect direct attacks on the fence.

Hybrid deployment is best suited to high-risk sites such as datacentres, airports, utilities, power stations, rail sites, military facilities and critical infrastructure where early warning, attack detection and point location all matter.
