Fibre optic perimeter detection usually protects a perimeter by dividing the sensing cable into detection zones. When an alarm occurs, the system identifies the affected zone.
Point location DAS, such as EchoPoint, provides more precise location information along the cable. It can identify where the activity occurred, rather than only which zone was triggered.

Fibre optic perimeter detection uses a sensing cable to detect intrusion activity along a fence, wall or boundary.
The cable acts as the sensor. When someone climbs, cuts, lifts, tampers with or disturbs the protected structure, the system analyses the vibration and triggers an alarm. It helps security teams detect intrusion attempts before an intruder reaches the protected asset.
How does fibre optic perimeter detection work?
A fibre optic sensing cable is installed along the protected perimeter, usually on a fence, wall, gate line, cable route or other boundary structure.
When activity occurs, such as climbing, cutting, lifting, impact or tampering, the cable detects the vibration created by that movement. The alarm processing unit analyses the signal and decides whether it matches a real intrusion event.
Depending on the system, the perimeter can be divided into multiple detection zones. Each zone can be adjusted to suit the fence type, site layout and environmental conditions.
Bluetooth connection is required for connection between the phone/mobile app and the OVS-02GT sensor. If connection fails, it can be caused by other devices like a smart watch, headphone or Car hands free device that are also connected to the phone simultaneously. Temporarily disconnect these devices and proceed to configure OVS-02GT and when completed reconnect your other blue tooth devices.
Patent pending means the application has been formally filed and is under evaluation. It is a legitimate legal status, not a marketing phrase.
What to say: 'The application is filed. The technology is in production and performing in the field. That is a meaningful legal status. The detection performance is the proof of the innovation.'
