
The PEU module contains preset resistance values for the alarm, tamper and trouble outputs. It plugs into the socket inside a compatible OPTEX PIR detector, removing the need to fit separate resistors across individual terminals.
A range of PEU modules are available, each offering a different resistance combination to suit major control panel manufacturers. The control panel manual should always take priority when selecting resistance values. The detector model defines how the physical connections are made, and the panel manufacturer defines which resistance combination the panel expects. The table below provides an overview of available PEU resistance values.

There is no single EOL wiring arrangement. The correct method depends on the control panel, its zone programming and the OPTEX detector model.
Using the correct PEU helps streamline installation, reduce wiring complexity and ensure the control panel reads each detector state correctly.
Before installation, always:
1.Check the control panel manual for the required alarm, tamper and trouble resistance values.
2. Select the PEU with the matching resistance combination.
3. Isolate system power before working on the detector.
4. Insert the PEU into the detector socket, aligning the triangle markings shown in the installation instructions.
5. Connect the power and zone cables to the terminals identified in the detector manual. Depending on the model, these may include ALARM and TAMP terminals or TR, COM and TP terminals.
6. Restore power, program the panel zone and test each available state, including alarm, tamper and trouble.
