From quantum energy engineering to leading business strategy across Europe, Hiraku Shibuya, our Strategy and Business Management Director at OPTEX Security EMEA shares his story of growth, innovation, and how data-driven strategy fuels his passion for shaping the company’s future.

What is your favourite OPTEX product and why?

I love all our products, but I would have to say the WXI series. I was closely involved in its planning, and knowing that it is helping to protect communities and ensure the safety of people living in South Africa and so widely used in other markets across the EMEA region gives me a real sense of pride.

What does success in your role look like? 

For me, success simply means achieving OPTEX EMEA’s strategic goals and objectives. It’s about building long-term value and strengthening our position in the market.

And finally, do you have any hobbies or a surprising fun fact about yourself?

I used to be an avid road cyclist and even brought my bike from Japan to the UK, where I live, but unfortunately, it was stolen two years ago. Since then, travelling with my wife has become my favourite way to unwind and explore new places together.
