FTN-R

FTN-R offers two selectable detection ranges, allowing installers to match coverage to the protected area. The 2m setting suits smaller openings, while the 5m setting protects longer sections of a building façade or narrow passageway.

The detector creates a focused curtain-shaped detection area rather than a wide coverage zone. This suits windows, doors, balconies and pathways where movement needs to be detected close to the building.

FTN-R uses upper and lower PIR detection zones to identify movement. Both zones must activate to generate an intrusion alarm, helping reduce unwanted alarms caused by small animals.

The FTN-R doesn't require any cable or wire at all to be installed. The low-current sensor is powered by batteries (not provided) which can last up to 3 years and has a backbox big enough to accommodate most wireless transmitters available on the market. The FTN-R can be easily added onto a wireless alarm panel and extend the protection of the house or building to the outside.

OPTEX SMDA logic analyses changes in the detection environment to help distinguish intrusion activity from environmental disturbances. This supports stable outdoor detection in changing weather conditions.

The FTN-R features a rotatable detection head with an adjustable range of 95° to the left or right. Installers position the detection pattern towards the required area without repositioning the detector housing. This provides greater flexibility when protecting windows, doors, narrow passageways and building façades.

FTN-R features an IP55-rated housing designed to withstand dust and water exposure during outdoor use. The detector operates in temperatures from -20°C to +60°C.

The FTN’s slim, discreet design makes it suitable for a wide range of environments, from residential properties to commercial and industrial buildings. Its compact housing blends into its surroundings, providing reliable intrusion detection without affecting the appearance of the property.

Dual PIR detection and SMDA logic help minimise unwanted alarms from small animals and environmental activity. This improves alarm relevance and reduces unnecessary responses.
