Part of the WXI series, a range of 12m 180 degree outdoor volumetric PIRs, the WXI-RAM is the wireless, anti-masking model. With its comprehensive 180° field of view and capabilities to adapt its settings to the environment around your premises, the WXI series will provide an effective intrusion detection sensor for new and existing security systems. The left and right alarm detection areas can be set independently at 2.5m, 3.5m, 6m, 8.5m and 12m.
180 degree and double layer detection
The WXI series features 180 degree detection coverage enabling with one single sensor to cover a wide area, such as front garden, courtyard or patio area. The double layered detection allows to ignore animals while detecting people.
Independent left / right detection area
The WXI outdoor motion sensors provide two detection areas, left and right that can be independently set. For instance the right zone can be set at 3.5m while the left one is set at 8.5m. The sensitivity can be high in one zone and low in the other to match the operational requirements.
Anti-masking
The WXI-AM features an infrared (IR) anti-masking function which detects objects covering the lens of the outdoor alarm sensor. The anti-masking function adapts its trigger level to the environment to make it very stable.
Adjustable detection range
Each side offers adjustable detection from 2.5 to 12 metres. One side might protect a short pathway while the other covers a wider driveway or open approach. This gives installers greater control over where detection takes place.
SMDA detection logic
OPTEX SMDA logic digitally analyses detected movement to support stable outdoor detection. The processing helps the sensor adapt to changing environmental conditions and distinguish potential intrusion activity more effectively.
Flexible detection area
The WXI detection area is designed to suit different site layouts. Installers adjust the left and right detection areas independently, helping avoid unwanted areas such as roads, neighbouring properties or moving vegetation while maintaining coverage where detection is required.
Wireless sensor
The battery-operated WXI-RAM can be easily added on most wireless alarm systems and provide the benefit of protecting quickly and efficiently the boundary of the premises and of any outer buildings. Most wireless transmitters will fit inside the sensor back box and can feed power to the WXI-RAM.
Customisable detection
The WXI lets installers adjust the left and right detection areas independently. Detection is matched to the site layout, helping protect required areas while avoiding roads, vegetation and other unwanted zones.
Reduced nuisance alarms
Accurate detection-area adjustment combined with OPTEX detection technology helps reduce alarms caused by activity outside the protected area. Security teams receive more relevant alarms and spend less time responding to unwanted activations.
