Indoor detection is the last piece of the multilayer detection concept and the last line of defence. Detection systems serve as the first line of defence by identifying potential security threats and triggering appropriate responses. OPTEX offers a variety of sensors that offer unique security solutions and can be customised depending on the needs of the application and budget.

Ceiling/Roof Protection

Intrusion via the ceiling is a method by which unauthorized individuals gain access to a building or a room by bypassing traditional entry points such as doors and windows and instead entering from the ceiling. This method is often used by burglars, thieves, or unauthorized personnel to gain access to a space without being detected easily.

The RLS-2020I is a compact indoor laser sensor -Grade 3 compliant - which provides a customisable ‘virtual’ wall or pane with a detection area up to 20mx20m to identify the presence of people or objects. Ideal for ceiling protection, creating a virtual detection zone across the ceiling should anyone attempt to come in via skylights or other roof entry points.

Asset protection

Nearly 100% of the time indoors is where the valuables and assets are, these need protection. LiDAR offers a reliable and versatile solution for keeping these safe. The RLS2020I and the RLS2020S can be used to create virtual laser walls or panes to protect high-value assets. It can be seamlessly integrated with compatible VMS and PSIM platforms making it super easy to install and set up with existing alarm systems.

REDSCAN creates virtual horizontal or vertical walls that protect assets by detecting hands or bodies getting too close to the artwork or valuables. The solution also allows the security team to create zones meaning that should someone need to access a particular area the security can be lifted so that access can be granted.

Volumetric Protection

The most common is volumetric detection using PIR. OPTEX have a revolutionary indoor PIR range, the FlipX. With both grade 2, the FlipX standard and grade 3, the FlipX Advanced models available, the series offer a flexible detection solution. With high-security sites in mind, the FlipX Advanced has extreme catch performance and advanced sensitivity settings for increased precision and reliability. With 80 detection zones and a longer detection range (up to 24 meters), the Advanced is the perfect choice for a variety of high-security indoor applications, including banks, high-value retail stores and warehouses.
