OPTEX and Fiber SenSys, Inc., both OPTEX Group companies, have celebrated the success at Intersec Dubai, which culminated with our REDSCAN Pro LiDAR series winning the Intersec 2023 Award for Commercial & Perimeter Security Product of the Year.
Industry recognition for REDSCAN Pro
Further adding to its growing collection of industry awards, OPTEX’s long-range LiDAR REDSCAN Pro series was named Commercial & Perimeter Security Product of the Year at the Intersec Dubai Awards 2023. The award recognises products and initiatives that are coping with a challenging and evolving external environment that demonstrate clear innovation, as well as sustainability that support energy efficiency, enhanced performance and reduced environmental impact.

Latest range of perimeter protection solutions
The OPTEX and Fiber SenSys stand gave visitors the chance to experience live and discuss the latest in intrusion detection solutions for critical infrastructure and high-security sites.

The EchoPoint Distributed Acoustic Sensors (DAS) proved extremely popular with visitors. EchoPoint utilises the latest technologies in fibre optic sensing and machine-learning algorithms to provide the most advanced solution for applications requiring long-range, point locating intrusion detection sensors with a target detection of +/- 6m.
In addition, visitors could also learn at the stand about the new buried sensor from Fiber SenSys, Terrain Defender TD100™. It is the only software-defined radio-based covert solution of its kind and adds another level of precision and accuracy for perimeter protection providing one-metre target detection. It is designed specifically to answer the needs of the most demanding sites, including military, nuclear bases, and VIP residences. It can be easily installed in a variety of terrain such as sand, grass, asphalt, concrete, etc.
OPTEX also showcased its latest line of pre-assembled IP connected beam towers, providing reliable and cost-effective virtual perimeter protection. These beams have already been successfully deployed across many sites and residences across the Middle East.
Indoor security and asset protection
Showcased for the first time in the Middle East was the new indoor sensor range from OPTEX, FlipX series, that features an innovative lens that can be ‘flipped’ to provide both narrow and wide detection in a single sensor. The range includes the Grade 2 FlipX Standard sensors, ideal for residential environments, and the Grade 3 FlipX Advanced sensors for high security settings such as banks, high-value retail stores and logistics centres.
To complete the solutions presented at the OPTEX stand, one of the most popular demos was the asset protection with REDSCAN Mini sensors, where visitors challenged the sensor to detect them trying to access the server. Time after time, REDSCAN Mini proved the high-precision and versatility that is achievable for securing high-value assets.
