OPTEX LAUNCHES INDEPENDENTLY PROGRAMMABLE BX SHIELD OUTDOOR PIR

We have launched in the EMEA (Europe Middle East and Africa) region the new BX Shield sensor series, a range of curtain motion sensors that are ideal for protecting windows and the immediate boundaries of a building or site. Designed for both residential and commercial applications the outdoor sensors can be easily connected to an alarm panel as pre-alarm and/ or to a CCTV system to provide visual verification when an intruder is detected.

The new BX Shield design concept combines greater usability with versatile design. The sensor includes four PIRs, two on each side, and the detection range and sensitivity can be adjusted independently on each side of the sensor; the detection area can be easily set up to 12m (24m in total).

With a sleek modern design, the BX Shield sensor comes in two standard colours: a black body and white front face plate, or white body and white face plate. Optional black and silver plates are also available. The new BX Shield has four models:

BXS-ST and BXS-ST(W): standard hardwired model in black and white or all white (W model)

BXS-AM and BXS-AM (W): hardwired models with anti-masking in black and white or all white (W model)

BXS-R and BXS-R (W): battery-powered model in black and white or all white (W model)

BXS-RAM and BXS-RAM (W): battery-powered model with antimasking in black and white or all white (W model)

All the BX Shield models are equipped with digitally-enhanced signal recognition logic known as Super Multidimensional Analysis (SMDA). By analysing detection patterns and environmental information, SMDA improves immunity against changes in temperature or moving trees and vegetation, and can distinguish between the cause of nuisance false alarms and genuine intrusions.

Ceiling protection with REDSCAN

Often not identified as a security weakness point, flat roofs, skylights and ceilings represent a relatively easy way to illegally enter a building. Intrusion from the top can go undetected as, this part of the building is not usually protected by any detection sensors or cameras. There are numerous examples of valuable goods and assets, cash, intellectual properties and data that have been stolen by intruders entering a property from above.

Our Laser scanner REDSCAN RLS-2020 series is ideally suited to detect any intrusion coming via the ceiling. One unit can cover 20 square metres making it a very efficient way to secure buildings. Watch the video here.

Come and see us at Intersec, Dubai 21st-23rd January 2018
