The Grade 3 FlipX Advanced sensors are designed for securing higher-risk sites including commercial areas, datacentres, logistics and banks. With its rotating lens, the FlipX sensors can cover both wide or narrow areas. The sensors offer an optional bracket which allows for two installation options, either wall or ceiling mount.

Although using the bracket is optional, it has several advantages. The main one being that it allows for much greater flexibility as you can rotate it to create the optimal detection area for your site. Another key advantage is that since the sensor is not directly mounted on the wall or ceiling, it makes it more difficult for insects or small reptiles to crawl onto the sensor detector lens and therefore further minimizes the chance for false alarms.

The bracket accessory is EN Grade 3 Compliant and must be installed and wired correctly.

The optional ceiling or wall mount bracket, when installed the wall tamper must be connected in series with the cover tamper inside the FLX-A series detector. To simplify the connections, use the SP (spare) terminal to join the bracket tamper and the terminal from the panel as below.

Using Plug-in Resistor Module (PEU)

The plug-in resistor module (PEU) or standard resistor module may be used.

When using the plug-in resistor (PEU) option, the resistor values depend on the module installed. The choice of PEU module option depends on your chosen alarm panel. Use the table below to pick the right PEU module.

PEU options and EOL resistor values for common alarm panels

PEU OPTIONS

When installing the PEU module, observe the orientation of the module. Locate the triangle indicator on the PEU module and that on the detector socket and install the module by mapping the indicators.

It is also possible to use individual end-of-line (EOL) resistors by choosing appropriate resistor values applicable to the alarm panel if the PEU module is not available.

Do not attach the resistors to the terminals on the cover as this may interfere with the cover when closing, instead insert the resistor to the PEU connections on the main detector.
