Part of the FlipX Series, the Grade-3 FlipX Advanced indoor sensors with antimasking and advanced features allowing them to protect a wide range of applications, including high-security and high-risk sites. Our tech team shares tips to configure the different settings and adapt to different site requirements.
Ajustable detection range
The FlipX series has a selectable narrow or wide detection area with an adjustable detection range in one sensor.
The wide detection area offers a coverage of up to 15m (50ft.) at 85-degrees and in DT (dual technology) models it provides both microwave and PIR detection, meaning an alarm activation requires both PIR and microwave detection.
The adjustment of microwave sensitivity (a choice of low, medium and high) will change the detection range.
Narrow Mode Configuration
Simply by flipping the lens the detection area can change from wide detection to narrow detection. When the lens is installed in narrow mode, the detector will auto detect the lens and change the detection area to create a curtain-style detection with a fixed range of 24m (non-adjustable). In the dual-technology model (FLX-A-DT and FLX-A-DAM) changing to narrow mode will automatically disable microware sensitivity.
Down zone
To support flexible mount height, all models in the FlipX Advanced series feature a selectable down zone, which allows to create a look down zone below the sensor. This may be enabled or disabled thanks to a dedicated switch.
Down zone feature is available in both wide and narrow mode configurations.
